Collection: Open Letter From the CEO
To Our Valued Clients,
On behalf of the entire CHEAPID team, I would like to sincerely thank you for your continued trust, patience, and support.
Since 2005, CHEAPID has proudly served customers as a PC retailer.
For over 20 years, we were committed to providing quality computers and technology solutions. In January 2026, we made the difficult decision to transition from PC selling to becoming a dedicated PC service center.
This transition was driven by our desire to focus on professional diagnostics, board-level repair, and restoring devices whenever possible. While this new direction allows us to better serve customers who need technical repair services, it has also brought operational challenges.
One of these challenges is addressing pending return merchandise from our previous retail operations. We continue to allocate time, manpower, and financial resources to resolve these cases responsibly. We understand that some customers have experienced delays, and for that, I sincerely apologize. Please know that we remain committed to resolving these outstanding matters.
At the same time, our service center has experienced a significant increase in repair requests. The growing volume of units in our repair queue has required us to adjust our estimated lead times to better reflect our actual repair capacity.
Some repairs—especially board-level repairs—are highly technical and cannot be completed within a fixed timeframe. Every device is different. Some may require extensive diagnostics, multiple repair attempts, component sourcing, and prolonged testing before a final result can be determined.
This is why we provide our Terms & Conditions and estimated lead times before accepting every repair. These policies are intended to set clear expectations and ensure that every device receives the attention it requires without compromising the quality of our work.
We also understand that many customers would like daily or weekly updates. While we appreciate this request, it is not always possible to provide meaningful progress reports, particularly for board-level repairs. There are times when our technicians spend several days diagnosing or testing a device without a significant development to report. Rather than providing speculative updates, we will contact you whenever there is confirmed progress, an important finding, or the repair has been completed.
Regarding refunds, we also ask for your understanding. In some cases, a repair may ultimately not proceed or the device may be returned to its owner. However, before that decision is reached, our technicians may have already invested substantial time in diagnosis, labor, sourcing parts, and attempting repairs. Because of this, refund requests require careful review and processing in accordance with our policies and the work already performed.
Our commitment has always been to provide honest service, transparent communication, and quality workmanship. We recognize that delays can be frustrating, and we are continuously improving our systems, expanding our capabilities, and refining our processes to better serve you.
If you have any concerns about your repair, return merchandise, or any other matter, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. I welcome respectful feedback and will do my best to listen, clarify concerns, and help find an appropriate resolution.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued confidence in CHEAPID. Your trust is something we value deeply, and we remain committed to serving you with integrity and professionalism.
Sincerely,
Pamela Moja
